Aspiring young swimmers will enjoy the chance of a German swimming competition on Friday As the 2021 FINA World Swimming Championships continues in Abu Dhabi, Olympic champion Florian Wellbrock has joined the fun of a unique training clinic in the Etihad Arena.
Wellbrock is the second athlete in history to win medals in both Olympic swimming and marathon swimming. The German won the sprint race in the open water 10km race on Thursday and is preparing for the weekend pool race. At the end of the course, young swimmers were able to try one of the most difficult moves in the pool—rolling—Florian watched by the side for support. 9-year-old Jayden said: “It’s really great. The exciting swimming clinic is organized in cooperation with the national health insurance company Dammam and the UAE Swimming Federation. On the eve of the tournament, many seminars were held in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and the entire community was free to attend, with a total of more than 4,000 participants.
