Nedumbassery: It was a heartwarming moment when Malayali youth Becks Krishnan, released from Abu Dhabi jail, met his savior, Lulu Group chairman MA Yusuff Ali, at the CIAL Convention Center on Monday.
“You gave me a second life,” said Krishnan, emotional when he saw Yusuff Ali, whose tireless efforts led to the young man’s release.
Krishnan’s life turned upside down 10 years ago when the UAE Supreme Court ordered his execution by firing squad after a Sudanese child was killed in a car crash in September 2012.
The car was driven by Krishnan, who was working as a driver for a private company at the time.
After this, Krishnan’s family approached Yousef Ali, who intervened and paid Rs 10 lakh as a blood debt to the victim’s family.
