Yuki Tsunoda had to pay $52 fine in Abu Dhabi, but he won’t accept his mistake

[ad_1]

F1 drivers tend to go really fast even when they’re not on dedicated tracks but on normal roads. Perhaps, this is the instinct of most of them. That’s why Lewis Hamilton often says he doesn’t like driving a regular car.

Yuki Tsunoda appeared in Abu Dhabi for the final race of the season and received a speeding ticket.Pierre Gasly, who was with him on that particular drive, revealed it in his farewell video By Alpha Taurus.

Speeding fines are approximately $52. Gasly also said in the video that he had warned Kakuta to be speeding on the road, but the Japanese racer ignored it.

Yuki Tsunoda says it’s not his fault

When Gasly informed Kakuta of his speeding violation, Kakuta denied it outright. The 22-year-old claimed he was not at fault when the fine came and backed up his argument by saying he had never received a speeding ticket before.

Kakuda even claimed he had his foot off the accelerator, so how could his car be speeding? But Gasly contradicted himself by saying his teammate was a heavy driver.

In the end, Gasly said that Kakuda had to pay $53, and the Japanese driver would not lose anything after paying it. Considering that Tsunoda earns over $1 million a year at AlphaTauri, he doesn’t lose a second to the fine.

they all went their separate ways

In the middle of the season, it was announced that Gasly would succeed Fernando Alonso for the 2023 season. Thus ended one of the loveliest partnerships in F1 in recent years.

Gasly has joined Alpine’s headquarters and is working on projects for the next season. Red Bull, meanwhile, did not opt for a driver from the academy, opting for Nyck de Vries instead of the Frenchman to drive for their sister team.

Tsunoda will also drive for the AlphaTauri team in 2023. This season, the Japanese racer has only improved and shown that he is worthy of the team’s push. Still, none of the academy drivers posed a real threat to him.
