Mikoko Hut is the name of a brand new restaurant and cafe, currently in the soft opening stage Mangrove Beach in Umm Qaiwan. Inspired by the unpretentious lifestyle of Zanzibar, the stunning dog-friendly beach provides a natural haven for you to spend a relaxing day.
The cottage features traditional African markings and carvings, and is decorated with two huge double doors, inviting guests to enter. There is a huge viewing point on the upper level, and visitors can enjoy the panoramic view of the mangrove forest from above.
Using natural materials that are in harmony with the organic landscape, guests can climb a wooden staircase that surrounds a large tree to reach the top floor. Elsewhere, bohemian decor is used to create a charming area with Instagrammable aesthetics.
The mangrove tour takes place during high tide, and guests can explore the area by kayaking to discover many plants and wildlife in the area, such as flamingos. Other sports are also available, including beach volleyball and stand-up paddle boarding.
