Zayed University and HFDAP join forces to drive academic innovation

Zayed University (ZU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Outstanding Academic Performance (HFDAP) to support innovative thinking.

The programme aims to enhance academic achievement and equip ZU students with the skills and knowledge to better achieve their future aspirations and contribute to the UAE community.

The MoU details a comprehensive framework for cooperation in which both parties agree to share knowledge and hold joint events aimed at raising awareness of the importance of innovative and creative thinking in enhancing academic achievement.

Together, they will also encourage students to take part in the UAE FAB Labs programme, which uses the latest technologies, tools and procedures in the field of digital manufacturing.

The memorandum was signed by Suleiman Abdul-Halek al-Ansari, executive director of the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Outstanding Academic Performance, and Zayed University provost and chief Academic Officer Professor Clayton McKenzie signed at a ceremony at the University’s Dubai campus, in front of academics and staff from both parties.

Dr Jamal Mohammed Al Muhairi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Secretary General of the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance, expressed his gratitude for the collaboration, stressing that “the technical expertise and Capability will undoubtedly “contribute to the creation of talent. By injecting creativity and innovation into the education sector, we are actively contributing to the creation of a knowledge-based society, an important part of the ambitious UAE national strategy. “

Commenting on the collaboration, Professor MacKenzie said: “We look forward to positive outcomes from this collaboration, especially in the areas of training and academic research, which will bring mutual benefits to students, researchers and the community.
