DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – Zayed University has launched a new MSc in Environmental and Sustainability Science, designed to equip graduates with the knowledge and skills to tackle some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges. The announcement is timely, as 2023 has been designated as the UAE’s Year of Sustainability, which will also host global government and industry decision makers for the COP28 conference in Dubai.
The program will be open to students in autumn 2023 and will be taught in English at Zayed University in Abu Dhabi for four semesters. The program is designed with flexibility in mind, and classes are often held in the evenings so that those with work and other commitments can attend.
Taught by professors who are experts in the field of environment and sustainability, students will be exposed to a wide range of research areas including water sustainability, green technology, climate change, sustainability planning and management, remote sensing and GIS, biodiversity and Conservation, ecosystem function, and the circular economy.
Welcoming the launch of the programme, Dr. Gaelle Picherit-Duthler, Acting Dean of the Graduate School of Zayed University, said, “In 2023, the world looks to the UAE for COP28.
