Dubai: Want to meet family or friends but can’t see them? The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) in the Emirates has recently allowed the use of various video and voice calling applications.

These applications, which are considered Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services, are TDRA’s regulated activities in the UAE.

Below is a list of the 12 VoIP applications currently allowed in the UAE.

1. Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams offers users with a Microsoft account a free video conferencing option. With the free version, you can host a 60-minute meeting for up to 100 users.

The app is available for Apple, Android devices and devices running on Microsoft Windows.

2. Zoom

Zoom is another video conferencing app that allows you to start a video meeting and share the meeting link with participants who can join the video meeting. In the free version, you can host meetings for up to 40 minutes with up to 100 participants.
