The annual awards ceremony began in 1977, when Texas radio DJ Terry Beene joked on the radio that the upcoming Terry Awards were part of the popular Tony Awards show. a show. Soon people started calling the station to get tickets for events that didn’t exist, and led Beanie to organize a real awards ceremony honoring the area’s entertainers.
The Terry Awards were held in Texas until 2014, when Beanie brought his ceremony to Branson and changed the name to the Branson Terry Music Awards. On Monday, July 18, the 2022 Branson Terry Music Awards nominations were announced at a press conference at the Hamners Unbelievable Variety Theatre in Branson.
