29-year-old Indian man wins Rs 8 crore in DDF draw

Abu Dhabi: A 29-year-old Indian residing in Chennai won the grand prize of US$1 million (Rs 8,27,51,200) in the Dubai Duty Free draw on Wednesday, May 24.

The winner of the draw, Prasanth Thirunavukarasu – won the Millennium Millionaire Series 423 worth US$1 million after purchasing his lucky ticket number 3059 purchased online on May 11.

Prasanth Thirunavukarasu, a former Dubai resident, quit his job at Commercial Bank of Dubai after a year to return to India to care for his elderly parents.

He purchased the last remaining ticket available online on the day of his flight to India.

“Of course this win will help me take care of my elderly and sick parents. I will also save for my youngest son’s marriage. My sisters. Big thanks to Dubai Duty Free. Now I can honor all that I owe my parents and family responsibility,” Thirunavukarasu told Dubai Duty Free when asked about his initial plans for winning.

Thirunavukarasu is the 210th Indian to win the $1 million prize since the Millennium Millionaire Show launched in 1999. Indian nationals are the largest number of buyers of Millennial Millionaire Dubai Duty Free Tickets.
