The Robert Locke Abu Dhabi Championship will be held tomorrow (Tuesday) April 11-Thursday 13 at the National Course at Abu Dhabi Golf Club.
The 54-hole event is associated with the Robert Rock Junior Golf Tour and is a qualifying event for the R&A-backed World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).
Robert Locke46, a recently retired DP World Tour pro with two wins: the 2011 BMW Italia Open and the 2012 HSBC Golf Championship in Abu Dhabi.
In the Abu Dhabi event held at the National Course, he shot 13 under par in four rounds, beating the Rory McIlroy (NI) one shot, with Thomas Bjorn (this), Graeme McDowell (NI) and tiger woods (USA) fell further behind and tied for third. His highest Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) was No. 55 after his win in Abu Dhabi.

Locke received £291,646 for the victory, as well as an honorary lifetime membership to the Abu Dhabi Golf Club.
Robert is considered one of the top golf coaches in England and has many top professionals in his stable, not least on the DP World Tour.He now owns the Robert Rock Golf Academy at Silvermere Golf Club in South East England, alongside former DP World Tour players ben barhamas head coach at Silvermere.
Robert was also responsible for running and supporting the Robert Locke Junior Golf Tour which started in 2016 as a single event and soon developed into a Junior Tour at golf clubs in the Midlands of England. Since then, it has continued to expand and go from strength to strength.
Forty-four junior golfers, under the age of 21 on tournament day, 30 boys and 14 girls participated in this week’s tournament.

Kellen PrattInstructional Director of Abu Dhabi Golf Club said when the entry list was announced, “We are delighted to be working with Robert on this initiative. This is the first Robert Rock Junior Championship in the Middle East. We are delighted to have juniors from seven countries Golfers enter Abu Dhabi to compete: Bulgaria, England, Poland, Qatar, Turkey and Wales, strong entry from the UAE, players from nine UAE golf clubs and representatives of the UAE Golf Federation. Nine players with a handicap of + , the lowest handicap in the field is +5.7.
Kick-off for the first round tomorrow (Tuesday) is from 10am to 12noon, with a re-draw after the first round and the leader’s last out game at 12noon.
The course setup will see boys play from 7,100 yards and girls from 6,000 yards.
