5 Expos to Attract Over 2,000 Global Companies and 55,000 Experts

The Big 5, the world’s leading construction industry event, will open at the Dubai World Trade Centre on December 5, attracting 2,000 exhibitors and 55,000 global visitors from more than 150 countries to the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region worth US$3.5 trillion projects are in progress.

According to the event’s knowledge partner ABiQ, the total value of projects in the Middle East and Africa is $6.5 trillion, of which about $2.9 trillion is in the pipeline. The total value is equivalent to 138% of the region’s GDP.

ABiQ noted that the Middle East alone accounted for $3.5 trillion of the total value of the MEA, while North Africa accounted for $879 billion.

This year the Big 5 will focus on eight key product areas and host six professional events targeting key construction industries.

Middle East Concrete and The Big 5 Heavy will bring together concrete supply chain and heavy machinery businesses; Middle East Stone connects the region’s stone industry; Urban Design & Landscape Expo will highlight new breakthrough landscape, infrastructure and urban development solutions; FM Expo Connecting facility management professionals with new technologies to support them in safely maintaining assets; organizers say HVAC R Expo is focused on delivering healthy air conditioning for new build, retrofit or maintenance programs.

These events will be supported by a series of CPD-accredited talks and summits, providing attendees with insights on the latest market trends and actionable best practices, it said.

In addition to six dedicated architecture events, Everything Architecture will include innovative and inspiring materials, services and products that are changing the world of architecture and design. Organizers say the inaugural event, dedicated to architects, designers, specifiers and property developers, will showcase revolutionary solutions that can rapidly change the industry.

The UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure supported the event, calling for industry collaboration as smart technology promises to shape the future of construction and is in line with the government’s vision and mission to strengthen partnerships between the public and private sectors.

Returning this year, the Top 5 Global Construction Industry Leaders Summit will invite key industry stakeholders and disruptors from outside the industry for a busy day to discuss new ways forward, and to share knowledge for the future of the industry.

Competing start-ups will propose solutions in the contech, proptech, infratech, sustainability and energy sectors, while the FutureTech Construction Summit will include keynotes and discussions on the impact of technology on the future, embracing and implementing disruptive technologies and people, collaboration As well as inspiration, he added.

The Big 5 Global Building Impact Summit will debut at an event where disruptive thinkers, innovators and ESG consultants assess the building ecosystem and collaborate to support the achievement of ambitious regional net zero goals.

Finally, the Big 5 Construction Impact Awards will continue to focus on Net Zero and ESG, recognizing the people, organizations and projects driving sustainability, innovation and transformation in the region’s thriving construction industry.
