The Nissan Z is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo engine producing 400hp at 6,400rpm and 475Nm of torque between 1,600 and 5,600rpm. For the first time in rear-wheel drive, the 6-speed manual transmission includes Enhanced Launch Assist Control (Performance Class), which ensures smooth acceleration from a stop. On the other hand, the wide gear ratios of the 9-speed automatic transmission provide quick and direct responses.
The automatic transmission also offers Standard and Sport driving modes. Sport mode is great for running around winding roads, while Standard mode is ideal for commuting and long interstate trips. Sport mode also unlocks the performance potential of the Quicker Acceleration Control, Sport Steering Profile, Active Sound Enhancement and Sport Dynamic Control settings.
NISMO version
Introduced in 2009 as a coupe and roadster, the Nissan 370Z features a 3.7-liter aluminum alloy V6 engine producing an astonishing 332 horsepower and enhances performance with a streamlined and aerodynamic exterior. For the true enthusiasts, a NISMO version was later introduced, which beefed up the model’s steering design and boosted power to a staggering 350 horsepower. The Nissan 370Z also earned its first Guinness World Record in 2014 by setting the benchmark for the longest two-car drift at a prestigious event in Dubai, UAE, reaching 28.52 kilometers.
