Croatia’s World Cup success may boost travel demand

Croatia has high hopes for its national football team’s strong performance at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, which will generate a lot of interest and travel demand for Croatia from the Gulf countries in the coming months.

Croatia made it all the way to the final at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the most successful World Cup event to date. Varaždin is a baroque city known for its music, flowers, manors and castles. Located in the northwestern part of Croatia, this region boasts breathtakingly beautiful landscapes, precious cultural monuments and a rich gastronomic heritage.

Zadar is often referred to as an open-air museum. Here, visitors will find some of the most beautiful architectural and cultural heritage monuments on the eastern Adriatic coast, today listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Zadar County has no less than five national parks and three nature parks, making it a special area in Croatia to visit with unforgettable natural land and seascapes. Zadar’s Adriatic coast is dotted with friendly towns and peaceful bays of islands, with a hinterland full of rustic charm.
