is it a bird Is it an airplane? No, this is your weekend party in Abu Dhabi, with capes and panties proudly pulled over your trousers, coming hot.

Friday March 17

new movie

Following DC Studios’ shakeup late last year, few of the brand’s legacy projects look safe. James Gunn and Peter Safran have officially terminated the Snyderverse and are planning to reboot the Justice League (the new Kryptonian dodger behind the *sniff* Superman figure) entirely. Our feeling is that this will prove to be a smart move for DC (just sit through Gunn’s 2021 suicide squad Against David Ayler’s 2016 suicide squad). Of the films that were too long in the making (and relatively successful seeding films) to be canceled, there were flash; Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom; and Shazam! wrath of the gods. The latter, which hit theaters in March, stars Zachary Levi as an adult character capable of transforming from kid to superhero. This time, Shazam and his merry band of misfits will meddle in the apocalyptic affairs of the daughters of Atlas. And, as a high-stakes subplot, the film would essentially be Levi’s very public job audition.
