Over the last 9 years, 9 adults and 4 youth have received medals, announcements and awards for excellence in academic achievement, business, community service and educationday yearly Star Entertainment Awards ceremony for women who dare to be different. The ceremony took place on March 25, 2023 at Theodore D. Young Community Center in White Plains, New York.
The winner is Hon. Tajian Nelson, Nada Khader, Rev. Dr. Sebrina Trent-Elmore, Natalie Barrington, Faye Wilkie-Fields, Evangelist Min. Brenda Sterling, Sister Marsha L. Allen and Jaime McGills.
Tiffany Nicholson, Prescilazoe Nyarko, Jordan Acevedo and Jahnii Banks received the Youth Award, while the Legacy Award went to Barbara Perry.
Honey. During the recent Women’s International Heritage Month, New York State Attorney General Letitia James honored the ladies for their outstanding contributions.
Keynote speaker New York State Attorney General Letitia James said, “It’s so important that we teach girls to approach power and recognize that they belong in this place and this arena.”
“This afternoon we came together as a like-minded community to support the women among us who are making a difference — women who think of others before themselves,” James said.
Rep. Jamaal Bowman, in turn, said: “Events like this honor the legacy of all the women who have made a difference in their communities. I am grateful that they have allowed me to enter this space as a man and say a few words, not just to honor the Tish James, also in honor of all our female leaders,” Bowman said.
State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins also attended the event, which was attended by more than 300 people.

The models showcase original clothing designs by renowned national fashion designers such as Willie Hall Designs and Highly Humble.
