Today I am pleased to announce the appointment of new Consul Generals in the UAE, the United States and Germany.
Bryony Hilles will serve as Consul General and General Manager for the Middle East and Africa, Christopher Ketter will serve as Consul General and Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner in San Francisco, and Kelly Matthews will serve as Consul in San Francisco. Headquarters Frankfurt and Commissioner for Trade and Investment.
Bryony Hilles brings extensive experience from her previous senior management role at QTIQ, where she led QTIQ’s engagement with Expo Dubai. Her experience will be critical in supporting the administration’s trade diversification agenda in the Middle East.
Christopher Ketter is a former Senator of Australia and a senior adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister and the Honorable Minister of Defence. Richard Marrs. His extensive experience in government, the defense industry and critical technologies will help support Australia’s AUKUS objectives.
Kelly Matthews is currently Abu Dhabi’s Trade and Investment Commissioner, managing the Australian Government’s education, defense industry and space sector business programs in the Middle East and Africa region. With over 20 years of experience in the Australian Government, representing Australia in various diplomatic roles around the world, she is well-positioned to drive foreign investment.
I thank the outgoing Consul General and General Manager for the Middle East and Arica, Ian Halliday, San Francisco Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner Nick Nichles, and Frankfurt Trade and Investment Commissioner Anna Fedeles for their contributions to advancing Australia’s trade and investment efforts across their respective area.
The quality of these appointments underpins the government’s commitment to boost exports and foreign investment, leading to more well-paying jobs, more national income and more opportunity for businesses and workers.
