WORLD NEWS | Police link man to two women whose bodies were found in separate storage rooms in Minnesota

[ad_1]

SAINT PAUL (USA) – The body of a Minnesota woman who had been missing for two years was found in a storage room, and St. Paul police said Friday that her death was linked to an alleged man. The dismembered body of another woman was found in another storage room in another Neapolis suburb.

Joseph Jorgenson has not yet been charged in the death of Fanta Xayavong, but the 40-year-old man was charged with killing 33 people last week, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported. Manijeh “Mani” Starren, 19, was charged with second-degree murder.

Xayavong’s body was found in a storage room in Coon Rapids on Thursday, while Starren’s body was found in a storage room in Woodbury last month.

St. Paul Police Sergeant. Mike Ernster said the death of Xayavong, 33, was linked to Jorgenson’s death after investigators linked Jorgenson to the Coon Rapids storage unit. relevant. Police are currently trying to determine if Jorgensen is connected to other missing persons.

“It was just horrific,” Ernst said.

The Minnesota Department of Criminal Apprehension received a report in May that Xayavong had an abusive relationship with Jorgensen before he disappeared in July 2021. Police said Stallen also had a relationship with Jorgensen before her death.

Ernst said police have yet to determine where and when Shayafong was killed. On Friday, investigators searched the home where Jorgensen lived until last September.

Jorgensen’s attorney did not return calls to the newspaper on Friday.

“Cases like this are extremely rare, but they remind us all that monsters can be real,” Police Chief Axel Henry said at a news conference on Friday.

Stallen was reported missing on May 1. Jorgensen trapped herself in her apartment on June 26 and set it on fire when police tried to search it, and investigators discovered her body. Jorgensen was arrested after an altercation with police. A police review of his mobile phone activity led to Woodbury’s storage room, where Stallen’s body was found.

Prosecutors believe Jorgensen dismembered Starlen’s body and carried her body out of the Maplewood apartment in a duffel bag and a small suitcase, according to court documents.

Video from the apartment building showed Starren fleeing Jorgensen on April 21, before Jorgensen grabbed her and pushed her back inside the house. No one saw her leave the apartment again. (Associated Press)
