Huawei Cloud releases Pangu 3.0 and Ascend AI

[ad_1]

HUAWEI CLOUD released Pangu 3.0 and Ascend AI cloud service to empower industry customers and partners, unleash the potential of artificial intelligence, and achieve transformative growth in various industries.

Zhang Pingan, Huawei’s executive director and CEO of Huawei Cloud, announced the news at the Huawei Developer Conference.

Pangu Model 3.0 is a pre-trained model system that can quickly adapt to the needs of specific scenarios and solve complex challenges across multiple industries. By utilizing large-scale datasets and machine learning algorithms, Pangu 3.0 will revolutionize the industrial application of artificial intelligence in fields as diverse as weather forecasting, drug development, train fault identification, and mining.

Expert assistant

“Pangu wants every industry, every company, and everyone to have their own expert assistants to make work more efficient and easier. We always adhere to the strategy of artificial intelligence empowering the industry, and keep moving forward in the deep cultivation of vertical industries. I We firmly believe that big models will reshape every industry, and every developer will become a hero who changes the world.” Ping An said.

The prestigious scientific journal Nature recently published a paper describing the great potential of artificial intelligence in weather forecasting. The paper introduces how Huawei’s Pangu weather model team used 43 years of data to develop an accurate global AI weather forecast system based on deep learning.

This artificial intelligence-based solution is able to predict global weather in seconds with 20 percent greater accuracy than traditional numerical forecasting models, while delivering results 10,000 times faster. The model focuses on key elements and common time horizons, allowing for more accurate weather forecasts. It is worth noting that it accurately predicted the trajectory and landing time of typhoons, including Typhoon Mawar, which just occurred in May this year, demonstrating its extraordinary capabilities.

Pangu mining model

On July 18, Huawei and Shandong Energy Group will jointly launch the first commercial case of the Pangu mining model in Jinan, Shandong. It’s a breakthrough solution that will improve safety, efficiency and productivity.

Traditional mining operations are inherently risky, labor-intensive and pose significant technical and security challenges. However, with the implementation of digital technologies coupled with enhancements to the Pangea Mining model, the industry is witnessing a transformation.

The Pangu mining model realizes unsupervised self-learning by importing massive data for model pre-training, covering more than 1,000 sub-scenes of coal mining operations. From excavation and driving to machinery, transportation and communications, the model simplifies the application of artificial intelligence in numerous coal mining scenarios.

Intelligent Monitoring System

Failure of coal mine transportation systems is a serious problem, resulting in reduced coal production and financial losses. To address this challenge, Huawei’s Pangu mining model uses an AI-based intelligent monitoring system that can accurately identify abnormalities in the transportation system, such as large coal blocks and anchors, with an accuracy rate as high as 98%.

The Pangu mining mode can increase the clean coal recovery rate by 0.1%. In a coking coal preparation plant processing 10 million tons of coal, a 0.1% increase in clean coal production could result in a profit increase of more than $1 million per year.

The rail industry has also benefited greatly from Huawei’s AI advancements. Through the implementation of the Pangu railway model, the safety and efficiency of freight trains have been significantly improved. The previous fault identification process in the Train Freight Detection System (TFDS) was labor intensive, inefficient and costly. However, the process was revolutionized with the introduction of the Pangu model railway. Accurately identify 442 types of faults, the detection rate of major faults exceeds 99.99%, and the detection rate of common faults exceeds 98%.

The transformative power of artificial intelligence

These case studies exemplify the transformative power of AI in industrial applications. By leveraging the capabilities of Huawei Pangu 3.0 and Ascend AI Cloud Services, enterprises can take security, efficiency, and productivity to new levels, driving substantial growth and competitive advantage in their respective industries.

Huawei’s commitment to innovating and developing advanced AI solutions underscores its commitment to provide customers with cutting-edge solutions. — trade arab news agency
