DUBAI, 11th July, 2023 (WAM) — The UAE Pavilion at the World Expo has announced the launch of two new publications focusing on people-centred storytelling and relevant stories in the UAE to enhance a sense of collective humanity and aspiration, and foster a sense of community, highlighting Its employees and experiences that connect and inspire.
The first publication is Dreamers: Where Land Meets Sea, an imaginative storybook told through six real-life ‘dreamers’, innovators and academics from across the UAE Inspirational and light-hearted stories that take young readers on a journey as they work to nurture talent in the UAE’s natural environment.
The second book, UAE Pavilion: Land of Dreamers, is a hand-stitched book by world-renowned publisher Assouline, highlighting the immersive visitor experience at Expo 2020 Dubai and the story of the Pavilion’s development, offering tributes to visitors from across the UAE. creatives and around the world, and to commemorate the UAE’s participation in the recent Expo 2020 Dubai and Flora Expo 2022.
Beautifully illustrated and easy-to-read, The Dreamer: Where Land Meets Sea brings to life the treasures found in the UAE’s land-to-sea environments and inspires curiosity and concern for sustainability and environmental awareness.
This book takes young readers on a journey with the inspiring stories of six real-life “dreamers”: Noura Al Mansoori, NYU; Dr. Tarifa Al Zaabi, ICBA; Yazen Al Kodmani, Emirates Biofarm; Ramie Murray, Dibawan; Manea Al Kaabi, Hatta Honey; and Arabella Willing, Emirates Wildlife Fund – WWF (WWF). Their innovative work spans across sectors and has inspired a deep awareness of sustainable development, environmental conservation and the UAE’s rich natural heritage.
Written for young readers aged 6 to 9, the book is available in English and Arabic in the same physical publication. It also includes an activity page that asks children to imagine their future in protecting the environment, encouraging them to play an active role in creating a more resilient future.
Written by UAE-born and raised author and cultural consultant Maryam al Dabbagh, the book is illustrated by Emirati artist and illustrator Aysha Al Hamrani, also known as Mnawra.
UAE Pavilion: Land of Dreamers A book embodying the values ​​of ambition, humanity, authenticity, openness, optimism and resilience, which are reflected throughout the book. It also pays homage to Santiago Calatrava’s stunning architectural design, with an iconic building inspired by a falcon in flight.
This book is the first Assurin publication with fragrance. The book is filled with the ‘Dream Desert’ scent custom-made for the UAE Pavilion guest experience at Expo 2020 Dubai.
