Ahead of the Bastille Day parade, the Chief of the Indian Navy has conveyed his deep fondness for the Armed Forces and the people of India.

India’s tri-service contingent is gearing up for the Bastille Day parade in Paris, France, on July 12, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares to be the guest of honor at the Bastille Day celebrations on July 14. Indian Navy Admiral Prateek Kumar expressed his excitement about being part of the event, stating that it was a great feeling. The indigenous destroyer INS Chennai of the Indian Navy, participating in the bilateral naval exercise “Exercise Varuna,” also took part in the military parade. Alongside the armed forces, a band will join the parade as well.

Commander Kumar emphasized the historical connection between the Indian and French armies, mentioning their joint participation in World Wars I and II and their crucial role in Europe. He also highlighted the growth of spirit and camaraderie between the two nations since then.

The Indian Air Force’s Rafale fighter jets, procured from France, will also participate in the air show. Commander Kumar expressed great honor for Prime Minister Modi’s presence as the guest of honor at the parade.

Ahead of the Bastille Day parade, the Indian armed forces practiced marching to the tune of “Sare Jahan Se Achha Hindustan Humara.” The traditional French military parade, celebrating Bastille Day, will take place in Paris on July 14. Prime Minister Modi’s visit to France coincides with the 25th anniversary of the strategic partnership between France and India.

The visit is expected to mark a new phase in the India-France strategic partnership, focusing on strategic, cultural, scientific, academic, and economic cooperation across various industries. The joint initiatives will address major global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. The visit will also reaffirm the commitment to multilateralism, especially in the context of India’s G20 presidency, as stated by the Indian Embassy in France.
