UAE-India Travel: Flydubai Flights Remain Uninterrupted Amidst Severe Rainfall and Floods

Despite the heavy rain and flooding that has ravaged the region for several days, flydubai flights to and from various northern Indian states have remained unaffected.

On Tuesday evening, a spokesperson for the Dubai-based airline informed the Khalidi Times that their flights were operating as scheduled.

Reports indicate that numerous areas in northern India continue to be battered by heavy rain, with many roads and buildings still submerged in knee-deep water. Tragically, the past three days have witnessed multiple casualties.

In Himachal Pradesh state, authorities evaluated the extent of the damage caused by recent rains, revealing that landslides and floods have claimed the lives of 31 people. Additionally, almost 1,300 roads have been blocked, and 40 major bridges have sustained damage over the course of three days.

According to the Response Center, a total of 1,299 roads were impassable, and 3,737 water systems have been affected. The data shows that the overall death toll has reached 80, with fatalities resulting from traffic accidents (24), landslides (21), falls from heights (12), accidental drowning (7), flash floods (5), electrocution (4), snakebites (2), and other causes (5).

The Ambala district in Haryana state and the adjacent Patiala district in Punjab state have experienced relentless rainfall for three consecutive days. The heavy downpour has led to rising river levels and the bursting of major canals, resulting in flooding of roads, residential areas, and extensive farmland. Authorities have been working urgently to evacuate affected individuals and ensure their safety as water inundates homes in certain parts of the two states.

The India Meteorological Department has forecasted further rainfall in the upcoming days for Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Delhi, and their surrounding areas.
