Chairman Sheikh Ghosn Hilal Al Allawi of the National Audit Office met with Humaid Obaid Abu Hibbs, Director General of the UAE Supreme Audit Office, as part of their joint efforts to explore cooperation and exchange experiences between Oman and the United Arab Emirates. The purpose of this visit was to promote common interests in the audit field, integrity promotion, and capacity building.
During the meeting, Chairman Allawi emphasized the strong relationship between the two countries and expressed the National Audit Office’s eagerness to collaborate and integrate with their UAE counterparts. He also highlighted the agency’s goal of enhancing joint activities within the GCC National Audit, Accountability, and Anti-Corruption Committee, as well as active participation in the international community.
Director General Abu Hibbs commended the National Audit Office for its advancements in legislation and regulations. He emphasized the significance of cooperation and knowledge sharing in strengthening audit institutions and enhancing their efficiency for sustainable development.
Throughout the visit, both parties delivered presentations on the role and responsibilities of their respective Supreme Audit Institutions, the governing laws, working mechanisms, and efforts in promoting integrity and combating corruption. The presentations also shed light on the training initiatives undertaken by the institutions.
Additionally, the visiting delegation provided an overview of the UAE Supreme Audit Institution, its objectives, and the utilization of information technology in its training and development system. The UAE Ambassador to Oman, Mohammad Nahira Al Dahari, was also present during the meeting.
