Mumbai Building Blaze: 7 Dead, 50+ Injured

Seven people lost their lives, and over 50 sustained injuries in an early morning fire at a Goregaon building in Mumbai. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) reported that 46 individuals were injured, with 7 fatalities. The blaze, categorized as Level 2, ignited around 3 am near Azad Maidan on MG Road at the Jay Bhavani building.

As per the latest updates, 51 people were rescued and taken to the Hinduhridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Medical College and Dr. RN Cooper Municipal General Hospital. Among them, five are in critical condition, while 35 are receiving treatment for their injuries, and four have been discharged.

The BMC noted that the fire primarily affected the lower floors of the seven-story residential building, which also had shops on the ground floor. The blaze also damaged several vehicles and scrap materials.

Residents trapped on the upper floors during the fire outbreak were successfully rescued, thanks to the efforts of Mumbai’s civic, police, and fire brigade officials currently on-site conducting firefighting and rescue operations.
