Veteran Telugu actor Chandra Mohan, known for his significant contributions to the industry, has succumbed to a cardiac arrest at Hyderabad’s Apollo Hospital. The 82-year-old actor, born Mallampalli Chandrasekhar Rao, breathed his last on Saturday morning around 9:57 am, according to Jagan, the public relations officer (PRO) of Apollo Hospital.

Chandra Mohan entered the Telugu film scene in 1966 with ‘Rangula Ratnam,’ a film that marked the beginning of his illustrious career and earned him the Nandi award for best actor from the state government. His cinematic journey included memorable roles in films such as ‘Shankarabharanam,’ ‘Seethaamalakshmi,’ ‘Padaharella Vayasu,’ ‘Siri Siri Muvva,’ and ‘Chandamama Raave.’

Throughout his career, Chandra Mohan’s talent garnered him two Nandi Awards and one Filmfare Award South. His significant impact on the industry extended beyond his acting prowess, as he was also a cousin of the renowned director K Vishwanath, a recipient of the Dada Sahab Phalke award.
