‘Scream’: China cited Mao to attack Taiwan’s foreign minister | Political News

[ad_1]

The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council of China slammed Wu Yifan, condemning him as a “screaming” fly.

China made an angry tirade against Taiwan’s foreign minister, citing revolutionary leader Mao Zedong’s words to denounce him as a “screaming” fly for promoting Taiwan’s efforts internationally.

The autonomous Taiwanese Minister of Foreign Affairs Joseph Wu speaks fluent English. He is an outspoken advocate of the island under the increasing pressure of China to claim that Taiwan is its own country, and often appears In international groups and the media.

In a lengthy condemnation issued on Thursday night, the Taiwan Affairs Office of China called Wu a “stubborn” supporter of Taiwan independence and he peddled “lie” on the island.

It quoted a poem written by Mao Zedong in 1963, “Red River”, condemning the Soviet Union and the United States.

The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council of Beijing stated, “All kinds of remarks about Taiwan independence are flies’ buzzing, piercing, and sobbing.”

Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the attack was “not worthwhile” to respond.

However, the Mainland Affairs Council of Taiwan, which is responsible for formulating policies toward China, is even more acute, calling it “slander and abuse.”

The Security Council said: “This kind of unprecedented verbal violence in the international community only highlights how far the Taiwan-related institutions on the other side of the Taiwan Strait have exceeded their powers and how far they are from a civilized society.”

China has increased its military and political pressure to try to force this democratically governed island to accept Chinese sovereignty.

Taiwan has stated that it will defend its freedom and democracy.
