The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Agency (NCEMA) made some announcements in a briefing on the development of the tropical situation “Shaheen” on Saturday, October 2.

During the meeting, NCEMA stated that Fujairah and the northeast coast near Al Ain will be most severely affected. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Center, the country is expected to be on alert from Sunday, October 3 to Tuesday, October 5.

The center stated that Shaheen is located in the northwestern part of the Arabian Sea, at 24.3 north latitude and 60.9 east longitude. Accompanied by various forms of clouds, cumulonimbus clouds of different strengths (expected to have lightning and thunder) and strong winds in the Arabian Sea are interspersed between them, with speeds between 116 and 140 kilometers near the center.

Authorities are cooperating with the National Meteorological Center to monitor tropical conditions, their movements and the extent of their impact on various regions of the country.

The following are the decisions and procedures announced by NCEMA

The authorities said that some schools and universities in the country will switch to distance learning. Local government agencies will be able to work remotely.

In addition, community members are asked not to go to the beach and the sea during this period, and avoid going to valleys (which are prone to flooding) and low-lying places.

High winds are expected to raise dust and reduce horizontal visibility, so drivers are urged to proceed with caution.

The public is urged to abide by all procedures and measures announced by local authorities, and to comply with information broadcast by radio stations. Official channel Regarding weather conditions.

NCEMA pointed out that the relevant authorities have been fully prepared to deal with the upcoming tropical situation, and the measures it will take are proactive preventive measures to reduce its impact on various regions of the country.
