Review: Rhain Steakhouse-Dubai Review

[ad_1]

Is it enough to compete with Dubai’s top steakhouses?

There is no shortage of meat-centric cuisine in Dubai. The legendary Prime68 of the Marquis of Dubai JW Marriott Hotel, the Hunter & Barrel of the New Australians in the UAE Hills, and the updated Carna opened by top butcher Dario Cecchini, to name a few.

But hoping to have a place in the meat market, Conrad Dubai has opened Rhain Steakhouse.

This is an upscale venue with 155 seats, with exquisite dining style and social media friendly gimmicks. In terms of design, Rhain’s large venue cleverly surrounds its open kitchen, and on the night we visited, there were many tables full of hungry meat lovers. We were taken to a large square booth, and when we walked in, we passed a huge raw meat display.

The menu is varied and there are a variety of appetizers, it is difficult to choose. A highlight is the beef carpaccio (Dh115), carefully prepared in front of us. Thin raw beef is rolled up, filled with arugula, crispy parmesan cheese slices and truffles, then rolled into a burrito shape and coated with viscous balsamic. This is a light dish, rich in contrasting texture and deliciousness.

Scallop (Dhs145) is also a must try. After reaching the clamshell, each piece is perfectly roasted, with a slight resistance to the first bite. Topped with apple juice with walnut skin, the taste is unique, but it reaches the goal immediately.

There are several fish and chicken dishes on the main course menu, but-honestly-we are here for steak. Decided to make it bigger before we go home, it must be 1.1 kg tomahawk (Dhs845), which is very suitable for two to four people. We have tried steaks in many restaurants in Dubai, and it is difficult for us to please, but Rhain does more than just serve. The meat is nicely marbled, juicy, fat strips that melt in the mouth, and despite the large bones, there are still plenty of steaks to eat.

If you are looking for an easier option, New York’s Belted Loin (Dhs345) is also a winner. Taking inspiration from some kind of Internet craze that likes to eat salt, our waiter cuts steak professionally while looking straight into our eyes. Another staff member tied to a bucket of dry ice also seemed to add more drama. The steak is as delicious as the tomahawk, but leaner than the sirloin you would expect.

Paris Brest (75 dirhams) was our last course, and thankfully, a hearty dinner ended in a light and fluffy way. The ring of the puff pastry is filled with praline-flavored cream and topped with warm chocolate sauce. It’s great for sharing, we can only take a few bites, but we are glad we did.

We have no doubt that Rhain Steakhouse is a competitor in the market if it can maintain its level of service and quality food during the opening phase. Meat lovers, this is what you need to pay attention to.
