A beautiful Italian restaurant with views of the fountain…
The new restaurant Mura inspired by the Amalfi Coast is like a magical secret Italian garden hidden in Pointe on the Palm Jumeirah. When you enter, there is a tree-lined lemon-decorated arch that takes you to the stunning dining area where more beautiful lemon trees twist together to form a striking canopy on the table. The space here (in a rare area not covered by lemons) is decorated in Mediterranean-style yellow, royal blue, and cream, highlighting the Italian style.
Appetizers include creamy burrata (Dhs105), complemented by some delicious, full-bodied cherry tomatoes. Exquisite wagyu carpaccio (105 dirhams) and truffles melted in the mouth, three pieces of cheese arancini (65 dirhams) were kabi and oh, so satisfying, although we will thank the Neapolitan sauce for the extra help.

On the main course, the mushroom truffle risotto (105 dirhams) was a bit bland, and the rice was more chewy than we wanted. Salmon (Dh160) served with zucchini pasta, lemon cream and pickled potatoes. It is a unique combination of taste and texture. It is worth noting that not everything on the menu is Dh100 or more. There are many appetizers, pizzas, pastas and salads, and the prices range from 50 to 100 dirhams. We like tiramisu (50 dirhams) in tall glasses. Ladies’ fingers, espresso, and exquisite mascarpone blended more flavors, and what we end up with is definitely not just our self-proclaimed “just one bite.”
Mura has a beautiful environment and rich and exquisite Italian cuisine. It is a place you want to impress when your parents visit or have a dinner date. Be sure to head to the terrace to watch the beautiful palm fountain show that illuminates the sky every half hour.
