Abu Dhabi Unveils Marsa Al Saadiyat Waterfront Project
Saadiyat Island just got a major new addition. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, has launched Marsa Al Saadiyat, a Dh100 billion waterfront development spanning 6.4 million square metres along 8km of coastline.
Developed by Aldar, Marsa Al Saadiyat marks the final phase of the Saadiyat Island masterplan. The project was previously called Saadiyat Marina District before the Crown Prince directed its renaming, a nod to the UAE’s maritime heritage.
Once complete, Marsa Al Saadiyat will be home to Abu Dhabi‘s largest marina, with space for up to 350 yachts and sailing boats.
The community will also include 5.6km of beaches, 140km of walking paths, a 46km cycling track, luxury villas, waterfront apartments and an underground Etihad Rail station.
Aldar expects the development to house more than 58,000 residents once finished, with hotels, restaurants, shops and a yacht club rounding out the offering.
Officials say the project reflects growing investor confidence in Abu Dhabi as a destination for both living and long-term capital, adding another landmark to the emirate’s skyline.
