Dubai RTA E-Bike Delivery Service Expands To 7 New Areas
Delivery riders across Dubai have a bit more room to move. The Dubai RTA e-bike delivery service has been expanded into seven additional areas, including Dubai Media City, Jumeirah Lakes Towers and Dubai Marina, the Roads and Transport Authority announced this week.
The expansion is designed to give delivery workers safer, designated routes and boost overall connectivity in some of the city’s busiest residential and commercial districts, where e-bike traffic has grown significantly alongside the rise of food and grocery delivery apps.
RTA officials said the move is part of a broader strategy to formalise how e-bikes operate within Dubai’s transport network, reducing conflicts with vehicles and pedestrians while giving riders clearer, dedicated infrastructure to work with.
The rollout follows earlier phases of the programme launched in other parts of the city and reflects growing recognition of e-bikes as a permanent fixture of Dubai‘s urban delivery ecosystem, rather than a temporary workaround.
Authorities have also used the expansion to remind riders and delivery companies of existing safety rules, including speed limits and permitted riding zones, as part of ongoing efforts to reduce accidents involving two-wheeled delivery vehicles across the emirate.
