Hong Kong-Dubai Financial Connectivity Gets Major Boost
Hong Kong-Dubai financial connectivity is set to deepen after financial authorities and market operators from both hubs launched a new working group on September 10.
Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing will work with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Dubai Financial Services Authority and Nasdaq Dubai through the new initiative. The group aims to strengthen cooperation between the two financial markets and create more opportunities for cross-border investment.
New Push for Cross-Border Investment
The working group will focus on improving links between Hong Kong and Dubai’s capital markets and financial services sectors. Greater cooperation could help investors and financial institutions access opportunities across both markets.
Dubai has established itself as a major financial centre connecting businesses across the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. Hong Kong, meanwhile, remains a major Asian financial hub with strong links to international capital markets.
For Dubai, stronger financial ties with Hong Kong could create additional opportunities for Asian investment into the UAE. The initiative could also support businesses seeking access to capital and financial services across Asia and the Middle East.
The partnership highlights the growing importance of cross-border financial cooperation as both hubs seek to expand their international market connections.
