UAE Telemarketing Fines Cross Dh19 Million as TDRA Cuts 9,433 Numbers
Annoyed by cold calls? You are not alone, and the authorities are cracking down hard. UAE telemarketing fines have now crossed Dh19 million, according to fresh figures released by the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA).
As of June 2026, TDRA had issued 3,301 violations against individuals misusing personal phone numbers for marketing calls, adding up to Dh19.19 million in penalties. The regulator also confirmed that more than 92,000 numbers were flagged by the public, leading to 9,433 numbers being disconnected for breaking the rules.
TDRA reminded residents that personal mobile numbers are meant strictly for personal use, not business promotion. Companies that break the rules face fines ranging from Dh10,000 to Dh150,000, and repeat offenders risk losing their telecom services for up to a year.
The numbers mark a sharp jump from late 2024, when the authority had issued just Dh3.8 million in fines. Officials say the rise reflects both stronger enforcement and growing public awareness, with more residents now reporting unwanted calls instead of ignoring them.
If you are still getting spam calls, TDRA encourages you to report the number through official channels rather than blocking and forgetting it.
