Yas Island Fire in Abu Dhabi Brought Under Control
A Yas Island fire that broke out early Friday morning has been brought under control, according to Abu Dhabi Police. The blaze started at a building still under construction, and emergency crews from Abu Dhabi Police and the Civil Defence Authority rushed to the scene as soon as the alarm was raised.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported. Abu Dhabi Police confirmed the news in a post on social media, thanking their teams for the fast response and reminding the public to rely only on official channels for updates rather than rumours circulating online.
The cause of the fire has not yet been announced, and authorities have not released details about the extent of the damage. Investigations are expected to follow standard safety protocols once the site has been fully secured.
Yas Island is one of Abu Dhabi’s busiest tourism and residential hubs, home to major attractions and ongoing development projects. Fires at construction sites, while rare, are taken seriously by local authorities given the density of nearby communities and visitor traffic.
Residents in the area were asked to avoid the site while crews worked and to keep roads clear for emergency vehicles.
