Abu Dhabi Customs Digital Services Expand as Online Transactions Rise
Abu Dhabi is pushing ahead with its digital transformation of customs services, making it easier for businesses and individuals to complete procedures without visiting customs centres.
Abu Dhabi Customs recorded a 9.4% increase in customs transactions through digital platforms in 2025 compared with the previous year. Customs clearance transactions made up 30.6% of the total and also recorded growth during the year.
The shift to online services is already having a noticeable effect. Abu Dhabi Customs said its digital services helped eliminate around 6.2 million in-person visits in 2025. Customers also achieved estimated financial savings of approximately Dh850.3 million.
Customer satisfaction with Abu Dhabi Customs services available through the Abu Dhabi Government’s TAMM digital platform reached 97.1%, up from 94.7% in 2024. The Service Quality Index also increased to 93.9%.
The authority is using artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies to improve customs procedures and support trade and supply chains. Its digital services include customs clearance, entry and exit certificates and options to modify or cancel customs declarations.
Abu Dhabi Customs is also developing its “Invisible Customs” project, which aims to create a more integrated customs system with fewer manual steps. The initiative was presented at a World Customs Organization workshop in June 2026.
The latest developments highlight Abu Dhabi’s wider effort to make government services faster, more digital and easier for the business community to use.
