The restaurant seamlessly blends Japanese street life, nightlife and the Osaka era in the 1920s. From the decoration to the soft background music of trumpeter Fumio Nanri’s (known as Satchmo in Japan), you will see around the restaurant a tribute to that era, creating a jazzy atmosphere.
The menu is as exquisite as the restaurant itself. The menu includes sashimi, sushi, tempura and dumplings. For the main course, try Kagoshima Wagyu beef, followed by various desserts. Japanese food is best to share, so order a lot of things and eat grass.
The restaurant is decorated with warm brown wood tones and comfortable leather boxes. You will see chefs preparing food for you in the open kitchen, which is a model of Japanese cooking. Mimi Kakushi is the name of a unique bob hairstyle in the 1920s that covered the ears.
Brunch is served at Mimi Kakushi from 12 noon to 4 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Free flow of self-supplied drinks is priced at AED 350, and free flow of self-purchased drinks is priced at AED 450. Dishes include sushi and maki roll platters, salmon and beef tataki, and miso black cod, steak or salmon as main dishes.
