Dubai-based flydubai announced on Tuesday that it has opened flights to Sohar, Oman, becoming the first airline to operate this route from Dubai. This is the airline’s third destination in the Sultanate, after Muscat and Salalah.
Flights to Sohar International Airport (OHS) will start operations on November 4th and will operate twice a week from Terminal 2 of Dubai International Airport (DXB).
Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, said: “As travel demand returns and more and more countries continue to lift restrictions on international travel, we are pleased to announce the opening of flights to Sohar, Oman. We are happy to go further. Develop our network and provide passengers with more options to travel in the region, and welcome passengers from Oman, especially those who wish to visit Expo 2020 Dubai.”
Sudhir Sreedharan, senior vice president of flydubai commercial operations (UAE, Gulf Cooperation Council, Subcontinent and Africa) added: “We are very pleased to add a third place in our network with our popular destinations Muscat and Salalah. To expand our network in Oman. This new direct route will enable the free flow of trade and tourism, and strengthen direct air links between Oman and the UAE.”

Located on the northern coast of the Sultanate, Sohar is a port city known for its cultural heritage and trade.
