TSR exclusive report: As Pooh Shiesty’s federal armed robbery trial is approaching, his team is making a request to the judge at the last minute to prevent federal prosecutors from providing evidence of past suspected crimes that occurred when he was a child.
According to documents obtained by The Shade Room, Pooh Shiesty’s lawyers argued that the government intends to provide evidence specifically against its clients under Rule 404(b), which stipulates that evidence of other acts can be used to show “opportunity, intention, knowledge, or no error .”
The government provided two specific cases in the notice: the first was an assault that occurred when Winnie the Pooh was 14 years old, and the other was a robbery that occurred when Winnie the Pooh was 11 years old and in the sixth grade. His team opposed both.
The document also pointed out that Pooh’s team stated that the government plans to introduce at least 16 episodes attributed to the use of guns by members of the “Choppa Gang” in order to “raise their interest.” The documents show that the problem with Pooh’s lawyers is that the alleged crimes are mainly concentrated on the independent actions of individuals not included in the indictment.
“Except for speculation, these behaviors are not directly related to Lontrell Williams. The last incident occurred during the detention of Longrell Williams,” Pooh Shiesty’s defense attorney wrote.
As we reported earlier, Winnie the Pooh Arrested in June for allegedly participating in the October 2020 shooting and robbery of two men in Miami. He faces federal charges including shooting during a violent crime, conspiracy and Hobbes Act robbery.
If convicted, he could face up to life imprisonment.
According to the document, Pooh’s defense attorney claimed that in the October 2020 incident, two armed drug dealers walked out of a car parked next to Pooh’s wielding gun. They were the victims of this crime and the government. Witnesses.
The document stated that they added that the incident was captured on video surveillance and argued that the two alleged victims had provided inaccurate statements when initially interviewed by law enforcement agencies.
Federal prosecutors are expected to respond on Thursday, allowing Pooh Shiesty’s team to rebut one day before Monday’s trial.
We will inform you in time.
