Since the water released by the Iduki dam reached the flood-prone area of Aluwa in Kochi on Wednesday morning, the Ernakulam regional government has placed a high level of security on the place that fell on the banks of the Periyar River.

Krishnankutty said to ANI: “Since the opening of the Idukki and Idamalayar dams, I came here to see the status of the Periyar River. We have nothing to worry about now.”
According to official estimates, the torrential rains in Kerala have already claimed 27 lives. Among them, there were 14 deaths in Kottayam district, 10 deaths in Idukki district, and 1 death each in Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur and Kozhikode districts.

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Tuesday Orange alarm Today it is in Thiruvananthapuram, Phra Tanantita, Kottayam and other areas in Kerala, which are affected by rain.
Other areas that have issued orange warnings include Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur areas.
The Kasargod, Alapuzha and Kollam areas have issued amber warnings on October 20.
