At the 2nd Future Food Forum at Expo 2020 Dubai, the UAE focuses on promoting domestic catering manufacturing – Dubai Blog

The UAE’s focus on promoting national food security and promoting localized food and beverage manufacturing will be the focus of the second Future Food Forum, scheduled to be held at the Dubai Exhibition Center at Expo 2020 Dubai from October 19th to 20th. At the forum, Mariam Bint Mohammed Al Mheiri, Minister of Climate Change and Environment of the UAE, will deliver an opening speech.

The highly anticipated event, hosted by the UAE Food and Beverage Manufacturers Group, will bring together more than 500 industry leaders to discuss the future trends that will shape the catering manufacturing industry. Through extensive discussions by experts, the forum plays an important role in shaping the future dynamics of the UAE’s food and beverage manufacturing ecosystem.

Especially because the increase in food manufacturing and distribution costs has had a serious impact on the industry. According to research, raw material prices have risen by 40% to 50%, while freight and logistics costs have risen by 175% to 200%. In addition, packaging costs have increased by an average of 45%, and labor costs have increased by about 30%. As the UAE focuses on promoting localized manufacturing, major players in the industry will showcase the trends and insights affecting the industry through keynote speeches and panel discussions.

Saleh Lootah, Chairman of the UAE Food and Beverage Manufacturers Group, said: “The Future Food Forum 2021 is held at a very important moment in the development of food and manufacturing. As one of the main contributors to the country’s GDP, it creates jobs and supports small and medium-sized enterprises. The main driving force of the corporate sector, the catering manufacturing industry is developing rapidly, with three core pillars: innovation, digitalization and sustainability. These will form the basis of the discussion at the forum. We thank the UAE government for its commitment to ensuring the future of the industry.”

Highlights of the event included a keynote speech by Abdulla Bin Damithan, CEO and Managing Director of DP World UAE and JAFZA on “Maintaining and Protecting the Food Chain”; and Tamer Mosalam, Vice President and General Manager of Pepsi-Cola Bay and Levant Foods on “Global Pandemic” In-depth keynote speech on “Leadership in Food and Beverage Manufacturing in China”. “

Alan Smith, CEO of Agthia; Ahmad Belyouha, Chairman of the UAE Macaroni Factory; Mohamed Bahaa, Managing Partner of NGC International Consulting, will discuss “how to deal with the challenging tariffs and tariffs at a meeting with Sumeet Mathur, Managing Director of the Middle East and North Africa of FrieslandCampina.” Develop vigorously under the regulatory situation”.

On the second day, Abdulla Al Shamsi, Assistant Deputy Minister of Industrial Growth, Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology of the UAE, will deliver a keynote speech on the topic “The Future of Food and Beverage Business—Government to Manufacturing Commitment of the quotient”.

His Excellency Essa Abdulla Al Ghurair, Chairman of Essa Al Ghurair Investments, will host a fireside conversation with Jessy El Murr, discussing his mission as a pioneering food and beverage manufacturer in the UAE.

Subsequently, Nielseniq Arabian Peninsula and Pakistan Managing Director Andrey Dvoychenkov will give a keynote speech on the new consumer trends expected by catering companies after COVID-19. Hassan Shafi, Chief Financial Officer of Al Ain Farms, will host a panel discussion on “preparing for the market restart”; Andrei Dvochenkov; Balki Radhakrishnan, General Mills Global Emerging Markets Managing Director; Dubai Industrial City Director General Manager Saud Abu Al-Shawareb; Spinneys Commercial General Manager Tom Harvey; Reach MEA President and CEO Dr. Sami Carouba.

Andrew Taylor, President of Growth Markets-Tate & Lyle will discuss new directions for food and beverage innovation, and then have a panel discussion to discuss why innovation is the answer, moderated by Ahmed Bayoumi, CEO of Global Food Industries; Gary Brenner, Aleph Farms Markets and Corporate Development Director; Tate & Lyle Middle East, Turkey and Africa General Manager Dominique Floch; Agathia Group PJSC R&D Director Sandra Grenet; HDF FZCO Managing Director Arda Cenk Tokbas.

Women in Food is another interesting panel discussion, moderated by Jessy El Murr with Kate Goodman as the protagonist; Alia Al Mazrouei, advisor to the chairman of the Ministry of Economic Development of Abu Dhabi; Lamia Fakhr, director of corporate affairs at Kellogg’s ; And Mona Ghobashi, Director of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs for Global Emerging Markets at Mars Wrigley.
