Lexus Intersect Dubai announces the winners of the “Young Chef Competition” – Dubai Blog

Intersect by Lexus Dubai (IBL), a well-known restaurant located in the heart of Dubai’s International Financial Center and part of Al-Futtaim Automotive, announced the winners of the “Young Chef Competition” initiated by IBL to support young and talented young people across Dubai chef. The local talent from SCAFA (Dubai Academy of Culinary and Fine Processing Arts) was reduced to the application of three young chefs who compete with each other by creating unique dishes that reflect their personalities, styles and skills. Winner Chef Hayat Mussawill offers her signature three-course menu at the DIFC restaurant for a full month for guests dining on the business lunch menu.

The three finalists, Chef Hayat Mussa Yilma, Chef Munir Mansab and Chef Hala Bassar are a respected jury including Capucine Leblon, restaurant manager of Lexus Intersect in Dubai, award-winning restaurant critic Samantha Woodaward, and chef Pang Long Chin A special menu was meticulously curated by members of COYA Abu Dhabi, Chef Mathieu Balbino of Pierre Bistro & Bar by Pierre Gagnaire, Chef Ravikanth Avadula of LPM Abu Dhabi, Alex Augusti of @justfoodxb and 2021 Filmfare Social M Award winner Samina Merchant. Hyatt left a deep impression on the judges. Her carefully planned menu included an appetizer of artichoke pie, a main course of lamb chops, and a dessert of deconstructed lemon pie.

“We are very happy to launch this competition to support local talents and empower the new generation to participate in the catering industry. We were shocked by the level of culinary talents we saw, but in the end Chef Hayat’s cooking skills and creativity on the menu were unleashed. The splendor passed. Her dishes are rich in flavours and presented in a well-thought-out manner. We must commend her for accepting the challenge and making puff pastry from scratch, showing confidence and culinary maturity.
