Relying on Dubai’s status as a global logistics hub and an e-commerce center, Emirates SkyCargo has also signed a landmark agreement with Emirates Post to develop an end-to-end global e-commerce logistics platform, focusing on serving markets in the Middle East, Africa and West Asia. This kind of cooperation between air cargo carriers and national postal operators combines Emirates SkyCargo’s global network and capacity advantages with Emirates Post’s last-mile delivery expertise and is the first of its kind.
To support efforts to reduce its environmental footprint, Emirates signed an agreement with GE Aviation undertaking to develop a plan that will enable the Emirates Boeing 777-300ER powered by GE90 engines to use 100% sustainable aviation fuel by the end of the year (SAF) to conduct a test flight in 2022.This milestone collaboration is expected to demonstrate how wide-body commercial aircraft using jet fuel made from alternative sources can reduce carbon dioxide in the life cycle2 emission.
