Dubai Police Seize 218 Vehicles Over Noise Violations, Issue 518 Fines

Dubai Police announced the enforcement figures on November 6, 2026, reporting that 218 vehicles had been impounded and 518 traffic fines issued during October 2026.

The enforcement campaign targets motorists who disturb residential neighbourhoods through loud engines, illegal exhaust modifications and irresponsible driving.

Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, said the violations were detected using specialised smart monitoring devices and field inspection teams.

Police are also planning to increase the number of noise-monitoring devices and install them at additional locations across Dubai. The move will help authorities identify violations more effectively and take action against motorists who repeatedly disturb residents.

Loud Vehicle Noise Can Lead to Heavy Penalties

Dubai Police warned that excessive vehicle noise affects residents’ comfort and can disrupt sleep, particularly for children, elderly people and patients.

The crackdown covers vehicles with unauthorised engine or exhaust modifications. It also targets sports car drivers who deliberately rev their engines or accelerate suddenly to create loud sounds, especially in residential areas.

Under the applicable traffic rules, driving a vehicle that causes excessive noise carries a Dh2,000 fine and 12 black points.

Motorists who make unauthorised changes to a vehicle’s engine or chassis face a Dh1,000 fine, 12 black points and 30 days of vehicle impoundment. A Dh10,000 vehicle release fee also applies under Dubai’s vehicle impoundment rules.

How Residents Can Report Noise Violations

Dubai Police has urged motorists to maintain their exhaust systems, avoid unauthorised vehicle modifications and follow traffic regulations.

Residents who experience disturbances from noisy vehicles can report them through the Police Eye service on the Dubai Police smart application or by calling 901.

Authorities have stressed that owning a sports car or modifying a vehicle does not give drivers the right to disturb public peace. The expanded monitoring programme aims to protect residential communities and improve the quality of life across Dubai.
