Industry experts stated at the first Global Business Forum (GBF) ASEAN meeting held during the Dubai World Expo in 2020 that Dubai is an ideal partner to help Indonesia expand trade into lucrative new markets.

HE Hartarto confirmed that, as the largest economy in the RCEP countries, Indonesia is keen to use Dubai’s huge logistics capabilities to expand its trade network to the African and South American markets.
“Since the country has the largest population in the RCEP region and the strongest emerging economy, Indonesia’s economic landscape pays more attention to improving manufacturing capabilities and adopting advanced technologies to increase efficiency and productivity. We believe that DP World can help us reduce logistics costs and It helps a lot in enhancing the mission of our national logistics ecosystem,” he said.
As far as Al Abbas is concerned, he said: “Historically, the Arab world has played a vital role in becoming a hub for global trade and connecting Asian and European markets. Today, through our flagship Jebel Ali In Hong Kong and the Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), we continue to lead the internal trade market by fully adopting modern technology and enhancing logistics services to achieve automation and improve efficiency.”
“Our strategy of using blockchain technology is in line with the UAE government’s efforts to support the digitalization of the logistics operation system. We are witnessing greater transparency in current logistics operations and less human intervention. We will continue to make full use of technological advances to enrich our services. Increase its competitive advantage,” he added.
