Dubai police recorded more than 1,300 violations around the beach-News

Last year, the maritime rescue department saved 23 lives, including salvaging a sunken car in Al Mamzar Creek.

Dubai police recorded 1,309 disciplinary violations on beaches in the emirate last year. These include disturbing beach visitors and riding wheels, skateboards and bicycles on the walking trails around the beach.

When Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Almari, commander-in-chief of the Dubai Police, inspected the Dubai Port Police Station, the details were disclosed. It helps maintain Dubai’s maritime safety and monitor and control coastal navigational movements.

The Maritime Safety Division issued 453 notices of violations against ships, water bikes and fishing boats in 2020, compared with 373 in 2019. The department recorded zero serious marine injuries.

The Chief of Dubai Police was told that the Maritime Rescue Section saved 23 lives last year. They included seven sailors, two of whom fell into the water when a huge wave hit their boat. They were trapped on Deira Island.

The department also salvaged an Arab driving car that sank in Al Mamzar Creek. Instead of applying the brakes, the driver puts the vehicle in parking mode.

In another example, a three-year-old boy’s arm was stuck in the suction pipe of a swimming pool, and the police rescued him.

After the flash flood, the department also rescued 20 people trapped in a bus in the Hada Valley.

Quick response

The average response time for the emergency maritime case section is only 4 minutes, instead of the 13-minute target.

Lieutenant General. Al Marri also reviewed that the station’s average response time to non-emergency situations was 9 minutes, while the target was 30 minutes. The serious crime rate for seafarers and dhows is 0.71% per 500,000 people.

Happiness index

The Mystery Customer Happiness Index of the Customer Happiness Center is 92.2%, and the target is 91%.
