Oops! Ice Cube is not to talk about being underpaid for playing a role in the iconic film “Friday.” Faizon Love played the Big Worm role in the first movie, and he recently told Comedy Hype that he only paid $2,500 for the role. After an article was published, a Twitter user reposted the article in an attempt to criticize Ice Cube for “robbing himself.” Well, Ice Cube didn’t hold his finger, letting the user own it.
“I didn’t rob any fucking body. The cost of making the film on Friday in 1995 was 2.3 million dollars. It was filmed in 20 days. Fazion worked for 1 day, maybe 2 days. All the actors were paid to make the movie. They can. Simply say “no”, but they didn’t. So miss my damn thing.”
Faizon explained that the pay was good at the time because no one knew that the movie would become iconic. In fact, he said that this role allowed him to continue working, pay the rent, and stay away from the streets.
However, Faizon did confirm that he did not return to the follow-up film because of his payment. On the “Next Friday” show, he was paid twice, that is, $5,000. He rejected this offer, and reportedly accepted another offer for $100,000. In any case, Faizon said that if Ice Cube needed him to play this role in the final movie, he would do so.
“If Cube says,’Faizon, there is no money. I need you to do this. I will have to do this on GP because it was that character that got me into the game so heavily,” Faizon said in Comedy Hype.
