HBCU statement

Howard University issued a statement on Tuesday afternoon stating that “everything is normal” on the campus.

“This afternoon, the Howard Department of Public Safety (DPS) and MPD responded to potential bomb threats on campus,” Howard University officials wrote on Twitter. “The surrounding area is protected and searched. No moving equipment was found and the area has been cleaned up.”

Norfolk State University also used the same platform as Howard to post similar information.

“The NSU Police Department completed its investigation of the bomb threat received on Tuesday night and issued a “clear all”. The students have been placed in the hotel and the dormitory has been closed until 8 AM on Wednesday morning,” NSU tweeted. “NSU police and authorities protected the campus. “Happy New Year! This just reminds you to be vigilant and pay attention to your surroundings,” TSU wrote. “Today, several HBCUs received calls about potential threats on their campus. All threats are unfounded. Nevertheless, please continue to be vigilant and safe both on and off campus. As always, stay safe and healthy.”
