Indoor rock climbing is becoming more and more popular and has matured into a sport that everyone can experience at least once. Although health and exercise can come in handy, it is a fun activity for young people and those with a young heart to try them with proper guidance and basic climbing skills.

At CLYMB™ Abu Dhabi, the ultimate indoor adventure center in the UAE, indoor rock climbing is a common hobby of the region’s most avid climbers and explorers. Ali Al Tajjar, 28 years old, Said he started his climbing trip a year ago and has been a frequent visitor of CLYMB Abu Dhabi ever since. Ali’s goal is to climb the mountain once every weekend to cheer for the next busy week. When asked what role rock climbing played in Ali’s life, he said: “It helps me control stress and makes me more focused in a week.”

CLYMB Abu Dhabi has the highest indoor climbing wall “The SUMMYT” in the region. “The SUMMYT” is 42 meters (138 feet) high, allowing climbers to choose top rope or lead climbing.

Interestingly, rock climbing is a sport suitable for guests of all ages. Marco Borello, 37 years old, I first came into contact with rock climbing at the age of 18. Marco not only practices indoor rock climbing, but also likes to challenge himself through outdoor rock climbing and follow specific climbing routines to keep in shape.

CLYMB Abu Dhabi has five climbing walls of different heights and difficulties, suitable for amateurs and skilled climbers. Guests can challenge their abilities through boulders, warm-up walls, intermediate, advanced and SUMMYT.

To that moment Francesca Ferrari Tanka, 33 years oldIt was a real challenge to try rock climbing for the first time last year. It took her a while to gain confidence and start enjoying the sport. Now, she finds herself trying different routes and encountering new challenges in taking it to a new level.

The UAE’s ultimate indoor adventure center offers guests the opportunity to participate in different courses. The attraction has gathered a group of well-trained climbing coaches who can help guests determine the most suitable climbing style. Even people without any previous climbing experience can practice bouldering, automatic rope tying and top rope at CLYMB Abu Dhabi.

Climbing couple, Ashley Howell and Nick Whitcomb, Go to CLYMB Abu Dhabi 2 to 3 times a week to use their climbing skills. They support each other by finding different routes and enjoy practicing the sport together. In fact, they plan to expand their skills through outdoor rock climbing with other CLYMB Abu Dhabi members and staff in the next few months. Ashley said: “The pandemic has brought incredible pressure, and we found that rock climbing is the perfect holiday destination. Since then, we have made some amazing friends and we are really grateful for that.”
