Webinar explores the impact of involving corporate employees in voluntary service – Dubai Blog

The Engage Dubai Program of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce recently organized a webinar to provide advice to companies and encourage employees to participate in voluntary services to improve efficiency and productivity in the workplace.

Webinar titled Let company employees participate in voluntary service, Studied the best practices that can be widely adopted to increase the number of volunteer employees, and how to use different strategies, tools, processes, and communication methods to enhance volunteer work, maximize participation, create learning opportunities, and achieve desired results.

The virtual event featured a speech from Nancy Nouaimeh, Vice President of Quality, Safety and Performance Excellence at Abela & Co LLC; Irudhaya Johnson, Head of Human Resources and Administration, Eros Group; and J. Poornima Rai, Head of Human Capital, Laing O’Rourke Middle East.

During the webinar, the speakers shared their experience and suggestions for companies to establish multidisciplinary committees, identify different community reasons or skill-based activities that employees are interested in, and collaborate with appropriate community organizations.

One of the speaker’s main suggestions is the need to create a volunteer service culture, which is embedded in business strategies through policy and corporate leadership participation, whether it is to provide internal voluntary services to blue-collar workers or to provide external voluntary services to surrounding communities.

Address to the participants, Ph.D. Belaid Rettab, Senior Director of Economic Research and Sustainable Business Development, Dubai Chamber of Commerce, explained the importance of volunteering for employees and how it can improve efficiency and productivity in the workplace, adding that during the Give & Gain 2021 event, more than 2,700 employees Volunteer for community cause.

“The COVID-19 pandemic poses a unique challenge to the business world to successfully involve employees in voluntary services; however, the Engage Dubai program of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce provides its member companies with numerous opportunities to remotely or use all Covid- 19 Agreement to participate in community projects,” Rettab said.

The participation of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce in the Dubai Plan is an important platform for the business community to share their experience, knowledge, skills, time and talents by volunteering for the benefit of the greater society and the environment.

The ENGAGE Dubai program launched in 2008 by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce Responsible Business Center unites businesses and community organizations in Dubai to improve the quality and quantity of employee community participation in the local community.
