The MH2 hydrogen car was designed by Slovakian designer Branislav Mauks, who has contributed to the design of every Ferrari model since 2007.

Featuring a unique functional design, as well as the latest technologies and materials, the concept car embodies the country’s ability to innovate and envision the future of mobility, while also contributing to its goals of promoting sustainable development.

Slovakia unveiled the new technology at an event attended by Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General of Expo 2020 Dubai, as well as the Political Delegation of the Slovak Republic and Commissioner-General of the Slovak Pavilion at Expo 2020, Miroslava Wa Lovekova.

Designer Mauks said: “Slovakia believes in hydrogen technology. Since hydrogen is part of water, we took inspiration from water after studying its form and colour. So, when viewed from the top, the carriage is in the shape of a drop of water.

“For the rest of the body, we took inspiration from the body of the athlete. So the MH2 is very aerodynamic and strong in shape, similar to an athlete getting ready to start a race.”

Created in collaboration with Slovakian automotive industry leaders Matador Group and Kosice Technical University, the hydrogen concept car reflects Slovakia’s ability to initiate collaboration between the automotive and academic sectors to create something truly monumental, underscoring the Expo’s theme “Connecting ideas, create the future’.

Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Hague, who was present at the event, said: “The Slovak Pavilion represents the beauty and achievements of Slovakia. Expo 2020 Dubai is the perfect platform to showcase our inventions and technological progress as we enter the post-pandemic era. I wish 2020 The Expo was a resounding success, and hopefully it will inspire a new generation to seek inspiration to make the world a better place.”
