It would not be wrong to say that there is an ongoing exhibition in Dubai with a range of concepts and artworks waiting to be explored and inspired. Whether you’re portraiture, calligraphy or landscape, you’ll find a space to showcase what you love.

An ode to our founding fathers and Arabic calligraphy

Qasr Al Watan has launched an exhibition of Arabic calligraphy in memory of the late UAE Founding Father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Titled Zayed’s Love, it was organised in partnership with the UAE Association of Arabic Calligraphy and Islamic Decoration. Visitors can immerse themselves in a journey through the most meaningful quotes, poems and words of the Founding Fathers through 41 artworks created by Emirati artists designed to harness the extraordinary art of Arabic calligraphy.

Until 27 July, Qasr Al Watan Assembly Hall, Abu Dhabi

From Korea to Dubai

Nakheel Mall has opened a one-of-a-kind K-art gallery in partnership with Springs 15, the organisation that manages events and programmes in Asia in the UAE. The month-long exhibition will feature masterpieces by two world-renowned artists, Son Jin Hyung and Kim Jong Sook. Visitors to Nakheel Mall and The View can visit the interactive galleries for free. Art lovers can look forward to Sook’s captivating collection of sparkling landscapes, contrasting the age-old tradition of Korean landscape painting with the urban luxury of 21st century consumer culture. The landscape begins with a traditional acrylic painting and is then embroidered with jewels such as crystals, pearls and opals. Hyoung’s series of works delve into the continuous explosion of positive energy and power through the continuous leap of life and spontaneous movement.

Until 22 July, The Crystal Dome (East), Nakheel Mall, Palm Jumeirah

face it

As part of “Face to Face”, the latest group exhibition at Oblong Contemporary Gallery, portraits, appearances, expressions and tributes will be on display alongside movie stars, examining common ground through the artist’s different techniques. The representation of the “face” is the only charming thing in common. Manu Algueró’s famous large-scale canvas explosions will appear on the walls alongside works by Flavio Luncchini, Antonio Nocera’s Pinocchio, Paolo Vegas, Serero Pop Art, Paolo Vegas, Youn Kyoung Cho, Igor Mitoraj, Valerie Breuleux and Jiménez Deredia.

Until 31 July, Oblong Contemporary Gallery, BlueWaters Island, Dubai
